Day #313 – König Pilsener

November 10, 2011

Went to the happy hour at a local German restaurant tonight and they had liter mugs of beer for only $5! Crazy cheap and I found a new one I hadn’t tried before.

König Pilsener

The König Brauerei is based in Duisburg, Germany. This beer is of the classic German pilsener kind and has 4.9% ABV. It is being served to me today in a 1 liter mug!

Tap at Edelweiss. I got a full liter of this gem! This beer pours a clear straw yellow color that edges on gold. Light white color head.

Aroma is straight dirty grains, light hops but a crazy amount of bitterness. Dry finish.

Flavor isn’t too great to be honest. It’s dry, metallic and grainy. Bitter. Bleh. I just wasn’t able to get into this one.
