Day #282 – Victory Headwaters Pale Ale

October 10, 2011

Stoppin in at the Ginger Man to grab my glass, then a quick kickball game and on to watch the Rangers hopefully take Game 3 in the series. Walk off grand slam last night…INSANE!!

Victory Headwaters Pale Ale

Victory Brewing is based up north out of Downingtown, PA. I have realized I have not reviewed nearly enough from these guys and will try to make more of an effort from now on to do that. This is an American Pale Ale at 5.2%. It is said to have been brewed with the very pure waters of the Brandywine Creek that passes near the brewery, hence the name.

This beer pours a clear light amber color with a small amount of head. Some light white foam can be whipped up when agitated.

The aroma is grassy, spicy/earthy hops with a sharp bitterness too. Light grainy notes, almost tea-like.

Flavor is dry, hoppy bitter with a sweet touch of grapefruit and leaves. Dry lingering bitter on the finish. Not bad but just a tad dry. Certainly well hopped.
