Day #214 – Saint Arnold Amber Ale

August 3, 2011

Hooray! I’m on vacation! There’s no telling what kind of crazy things I’ll find to review. Today though, is something we can find up north in DFW.

Saint Arnold Amber Ale

This is a good old fashioned Texas beer from Houston. I haven’t had it in awhile so this will be a nice review. Brewed by Saint Arnold out of Houston. It’s an amber ale with 5.5%.

Pours a very clear orangish copper color with light white ring of head. Served super cold.

Aroma is fairly light, mostly due to the temperature of the beer, but I can smell caramel malts and a bit of sharp hops.

The flavor is much the same. Fairly bitter malts and grainy flavor. Some bitter kiss of hops. Bitter finish.

  1. Never heard of this beer. I’ll look it up and hopefully will be able to try it sometime.
