Day #194 – Oskar Blues Ten FIDY

July 14, 2011

Thursday night! What an occasion for an Imperial Stout!

Oskar Blues Ten FIDY

Oskar Blues is out of Lyons, Colorado. They are one of the pioneers of craft beer canning technology. Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is an imperial stout from a can. ABV on this bad boy is 10.5%. (Get it? 10-50?)

Check out that pour!! This sucker is dark and black! It pours like used motor oil. Dark black, oily with a fat brown head.

The aroma is dark dark malts, huge roasted notes and some deep chocolate. Quite roasted.

The flavor is upfront roasted notes with a tingly chocolate flavor after. Dark chocolate and toasted grains fill the aftertaste. Slight bitterness on the finish. Man this stuff is thick and heavy.
